My chiropractic method
It’s normal for chiropractors to have slightly different approaches.
With a background in engineering and a curiosity for how things work, I have created a methodical approach for assessing and treating different issues.

Every movement you make involves the subconscious coordination of many muscles and joints, all working simultaneously like the musicians in an orchestra. Even lifting your coffee cup will involve muscles in your spine, shoulder, elbow, wrists and hands.
When one area isn’t working as it should, it increases the demand on neighbouring muscles and joints, which can become overworked, painful and stiff. For example, symptoms in the shoulder could be due to a problem in the spine.
This is why most people don’t know what’s wrong with them. And they’ll try things like painkillers, massage and stretching, which focus on the symptoms rather than the root cause.
Chiropractic is like a tune-up for your body. Restoring the harmony between your joints, muscles and nerves, so you can enjoy a more active life.
In my clinic, my goal is to optimise communications between your brain and body, because every movement starts with your brain.
Your brain sends information down your spinal cord and nerves to your muscles. This causes your muscles to contract, which moves your joints.
When they stretch, your muscles report back to your brain to tell it how much the joint has moved. This is called sensory-motor integration.
Sometimes this communication breaks down. Restoring the brain-body connection means getting the muscles and joints working properly. This will reduce your risk of injury and set your body on a path to recovery.
I use a method of assessment called functional muscle testing, which identifies the missing or weak link in a particular movement. This is usually caused by interference between the brain, the joint and the muscles that are moving it.
Functional muscle testing will tell me where chiropractic adjustments are needed.
After performing the adjustment, I’ll repeat the functional muscle test to demonstrate that normal coordination has been restored between the relevant muscles and joints. So you’ll see and feel the difference your treatment is making.
My patients benefit from a holistic approach and excellent continuity of service. All consultations and treatments take place in a private room, with me as your regular practitioner.
I believe in keeping things simple and keeping you informed. From explaining your issue and answering your questions, to describing the treatment and how it will work for you.
I take a holistic approach to chiropractic care, which also includes giving advice on supplements and diet. These things can have a big impact on the success of your treatment and your body’s ability to heal itself.
